Behind every coat of arms there is something to remember, that of the Kraft family tells my personal story. In 1883, Gerardo Bernardo Kraft, progenitor of a family of Swiss hoteliers, settled down in Florence. He then acquired the Hotel de la Ville and the Hotel de la Paix, which are known as the Grand Hotel and Hotel Excelsior. Gerardo Bernardo was my great-great grand father.
