Our hotel is in the centre of Tihany, one of theoldest villages in Hungary, built on the peninsularon the north side of Lake Balaton, which is famousfor its Benedictine Abbey, founded in the llthcentury. We have 14 exteremely comfortable ensuite double rooms and one family suite.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of Hungarianrestaurants , just a short walk away, while a fewminutes drive will take you to The Club Tihany withits excellent spa which includes masseurs andbeauticians. It too has a fine restaurant. There is apopular sailing club here, and just round the corneris Café Tihany, a superb Italian restaurantoverlooking the Lake.

Sporting guests can enjoygolf, sailing, riding, fishing and also hire bicyclesto explore the countryside. For those wanting to relax, the Allegro Hoteloffers a swimming pool (sauna and smallgymnasium) and there are two sundecks, ideal forreading a good book accompanied by a glass ofwine and a bottle of sunoil. These roof gardens arefloodlit at night. The village is on our doorstep andbuses can take you to BF which has a large market.

We offer a traditional European breakfast from07.30 to 11.00, but do not serve lunch or dinner.

However the friendly bar is open most of the day,from coffee-time through to nightcaps. Some ofthe best champagnes and whiskies can be seenon the shelves and it may be of interest that someof the wines are from the Allegro's own vineyardand wine cellar. A horse and carriage may bearranged to take you up there for an enjoyablepicnic or a wine tasting, while appreciating thesplendid view over the Inner Lake.
